Upper Gartmore Falls is situated in the Maskeliya town of Nuwara Eliya. It is the highest waterfall located in the Gartmore Estate, standing at a height of approximately 30 m. This waterfall is fed by the water stream that comes from the Gawarawila Plains and finally falls on to the Maskeliya Reservoir. The hike up to the waterfall is possible by an average hiker. It is well worth the hike because Upper Gartmore Falls is one of the most scenic waterfalls in Sri Lanka.
Getting to Upper Gartmore Falls
From Nuwara Eliya travel along the Avissawella – Hatton – Nuwara Eliya Highway and the Hatton – Maskeliya – Dalhousie Road passing Nanuoya, Kotagala, Hatton, Dickoya and Norwood up to Maskeliya to reach the Upper Gartmore Falls which is situated in the Maskeliya town of Nuwara Eliya.
