Turtle Watch is a turtle conservation area which is situated in a nature preserve in Rekawa, near Tangalle. The project was founded by a NGO which takes care of many sea turtles providing a safe and secure environment for nesting. In 2010, the project was handed over by the NGO to the local community who is now in charge of the conservation and preservation of sea turtles.
Getting to Turtle Watch Rekawa
From Tangalle travel along Tangalle Road towards Samuel Mawatha passing Medaketiya and Netolpitiya up to Rekawa to reach the Turtle Watch situated along Rekawa Road in Rekawa.
