Sea Turtle Hatchery is situated along the Matara Road in Habaraduwa. Habaraduwa is a cozy fishing city located between Galle and Mirissa. The Sea Turtle Hatchery in Habaraduwa heals and treats sea turtles brought from nearby towns and cities such as Mirissa, Pelena, Walliwela and Unawatuna. The hatchery releases these sea turtles back to the ocean when they are fully recovered. The hatchery has about five different species of turtles in it; Leatherback turtle, Green turtle, Loggerhead turtle, Hawksbill turtle and Olive ridley turtle.
