Papol Ella Falls is situated in Atakalan Korale, adjacent to Makandura village in the Hingurugalkande area in the Ratnapura district. It stands at a height of 45 meters and is split into three segments. The waterfall is sourced from the Giruwa Dola stream.

Getting to Papol Ella Falls

From Colombo take the Colombo – Batticaloa Highway and go past Avissawella, Eheliyagoda, Kuruwita, and Pelmadulla until Kahawatta. From Kahawatta travel about 14 km along the Opatha Road to the north of Makandura village to reach the Papol Ella Falls.
