Padanagara Complex, which consists of Padanagara I & Padanagara II, is situated along Watawandana Road in Anuradhapura. It is located away from the main city area. Hence, the complex is believed to have been used by Buddhists monks for meditation due to the serenity of the environment at the site. Padanagara is built using unique architectural features. The buildings here are made of granite and do not have any carvings on them. The only carvings to be found are on the urinal stones. Padanagara I & Padanagara II are located within a distance of approximately 1.5 km.

From Anuradhapura travel along the Puttalam – Anuradhapura – Trincomalee Highway and Old Puttalam Road and turn onto Watawandana Road to reach the Padanagara Complex in Anuradhapura.
