Mulkirigala Raja Maha Viharaya is an ancient and historic temple which is situated in Mulkirigala in the Hambantota district. It is a unique type of temple built on a large natural rock which is 205 m in height and surrounded by four other rocks namely Kondagala, Benagala, Bisogala and Seelawathiegala. The temple was declared as an archaeological site on 8th April 1988. The temple was built by King Saddatissa in the third century. It was later renovated by Kind Datusena and King Kirti Sri Rajasinghe.
