Mirijjawila Botanical Gardens is one of the five botanical gardens of Sri Lanka and is situated in Hambantota. It is a beautiful location featuring carefully manicured lawns and a variety of exotic flora. Mirijjawila Botanical Gardens has the Mattala International Airport on its left side and the Hambantota Harbour on its right side. It spreads an area of 300 and is operated by the Department of National Botanic Gardens, Sri Lanka. It is also known as “Dry Zone Botanical Gardens”.

Getting to Mirijjawila Botanical Gardens

From Tangalle travel along the Colombo – Galle – Hambantota – Wellawaya Highway, Beragama Road and Rajapaksha Mawatha passing Netolpitiya and Ambalantota up to Hamabantota to reach the Mirijjawila Botanical Gardens which is situated along Garden Lane in Hambantota.
