Malamura Ella Waterfall is situated in the Galle district. The waterfall lies in the village of Panangala in the Southern Province. Its height has not been recorded. The waterfall is located a few kilometers away from the Kanneliya Forest Reserve. It is a lesser known waterfall for tourists, mostly visited by a few locals from the area and from around the island. It is a calm place with beautiful surroundings and is ideal to have a bath in.
Getting to Malamura Waterfall
From Galle drive along Galle – Udugama Road up until you reach the Southern Expressway. On the Southern Expressway take the exit at Hikkaduwa and turn right onto Nayapamulla – Unanwitiya – Nagoda Road up until the Unawitiya junction is met. Take a left turn at this junction and continue on Mapalagama Elpitiya Road up until you reach Thalgasawala Junction. From there continue on Pitigala – Mapalagama Road and travel about 5 km until you reach the Malamura Waterfall.
