Kudawa Research Centre is situated near Kalawana in the Sabaragamuwa province. It is a research centre which is maintained by the Department of Forest Conservation in Sri Lanka. It is mainly focused on conducting research activities in the Sinharaja Forest. It is also one of the best ways to explore the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. There is a trail which leads to the Sinharaja Forest from the Kudawa Research Centre.

Getting to Kudawa Research Centre

From Belihuloya travel along the Colombo – Batticaloa Highway passing Aluthnuwara, Balangoda, Kahatapitiya and Pelmadulla up to Lellopitiya. From there travel along the Tiruwanaketiya-Agalawatte Road passing Nivithigala and Karawita up to Kalawana. From there travel along the Kalawana-Depedene-Rakwana Road passing Weddagala to reach the Kudawa Research Centre situated in Weddagala-Kudawa Road.
