Kottawa Conservation Forest is situated on Udugama Road in Galle. It is part of the Kottawa Kombala Conservation Forest which covers an area of 1800 ha. However the reserve is just 37 acres in size. The forest reserve is home to 170 species of tress out of which 100 are endemic to Sri Lanka. It is also home to many animals, reptiles and insects such as mammals, birds, lizards, snakes and butterflies.
