Kosgahadola Ella Falls are situated in Mulatiyana in the Matara district. It has a height of 3 meters. The source of the fall is from the Mulatiyana jungle. It is believed that there used to be a monastery at the site and that elephants used to bathe in the basin pool of the fall.

Kosgahadola Ella Fall is a popular waterfall in the area where locals and travellers come. There is a short footpath built towards the waterfall along with an observation deck for better views of the fall. The fall has escaped the fate of the surrounding area which is being destroyed for its natural resources.

Getting to Kosgahadola Ella Falls

From Galle take the Southern Expressway up to Matara. Exit on to the Matara – Akuressa Highway and travel to Mulatiyana. Travel about 2.5 km from the Mulatiyana Junction towards Kotapola to find the Kosgahadola Ella Falls.
