The Galle Children’s Festival is held in October every year and is an initiative of The Serendipity Trust (Guarantee) Ltd which is non-profit organization based in the southern part of the country. Founded in October 2011, it brings artists, dancers, performers and authors from the local and international arena to inspire children and make them participate in activities they would not normally get the chance to do. It is mainly focused on children from rural areas of Sri Lanka. The festival workshops are usually held in Galle Fort along with field trips to other places in Galle such as Martin Wickramasinghe Museum, rain forest, ship tour and boat ride by the Sri Lanka Navy.
