Distance from Arugam Bay – 6.9 km (12 minutes)

Elephant Rock is one of the most picturesque viewpoints in Arugam Bay. It resembles an elephant, hence the name Elephant Rock. It’s a popular surfing spot and one of the least crowded beach spot in the area. This is mainly due to the difficulty reaching the spot. A short climb up the rock opens up to one of the most beautiful sunset views in Eastern Sri Lanka.

From Arugam Bay travel approximately 6.9 km along the Panama Road to reach Elephant Rock.
