Delgamuwa Raja Maha Viharaya is an ancient Buddhist temple which is situated in Kuruwita in the Ratnapura district. It is well known as the hiding place of the tooth relic of Lord Buddha when the Portuguese were ruling the country. Delgamuwa Raja Maha Viharaya has been designated as an archaeological site in Sri Lanka. The temple was also known in the names of “Saparagamu Viharaya” and “Labujagama Viharaya” in the past.
