Dambethenna Tea Estate is situated in Dambathenna, Haputale. Dambethenna Tea Factory is a popular tea factory which was built in 1890 by one of the most famous figures in the history of tea, Sir Thomas Lipton. Visitors get to tour the factory learning about the processes involved in the fermenting, rolling, drying, cutting, sieving and grading of tea.

Getting to Dambethenna Tea Estate

From Ella travel along the Bandarawela – Badulla Road and then the Beragala-Hali Ela Highway passing Kumbalwela and Bandarawela up to Haputale. Then travel along the Haputale – Dambethenna Road up to Dambethenna to reach the Dambethenna Tea Estate.
