Bodhimalu Viharaya is a Buddhist temple situated in Weligama. The temple is located in a very crowded area in the Weligama town and is separated from the outer environment by a boundary wall named “Ethpawura” because it is decorated with pictures if elephants. The temple consists of a Bo tree, image house, stupa and devala. The temple is usually crowded with devotees from the surrounding areas.
Getting to Bodhimalu Viharaya
From Mirissa travel along the Matara Road up to Weligama and turn to Hetti Veediya to reach the Bodhimalu Viharaya.
