Kobothuragala is a mountain which is situated in the Avissawella region. It is located close to the Maniyangama Rajamaha Viharaya in Talduwa, Avissawella. The mountain is believed to have been used to spy on the Portuguese during the Seethawaka reign. Kobothuragala is an extremely difficult hike with an almost vertical elevation. The mountain is surrounded by rubber estates and forests. The summit of the mountain gives 360 degree views of the surrounding valleys of the Sabaragamuwa Province and the plains of the Western Province.
Getting to Kobothuragala
From Colombo travel along the Colombo – Kandy Road and Talduwa – Meewitigammana Road passing Gampaha and Amithirigala up to Talduwa to reach Kobothuragala which is situated in the Avissawella region.
