Weligama Beach is situated in the coastal fishing town of Weligama. “Weligama” translates in to “sandy village” and is definitely a village with sandy beaches. Weligama Beach is a great place to learn to surf and has may surf schools in the surrounding area. Visitors can also catch a glimpse of the many fishermen fishing in the sea using fishing boats or stilts.

Getting to Weligama Beach

From Mirissa travel approximately 7 km along the Matara Road up to Weligama and turn to Weligama By Pass Road to reach the Weligama Beach.
