Distance from Matale – 28.2 km (36 minutes)

Arangala is a mountain situated on the Kandy – Jaffna Highway at Naula. It is a mountain peak popular as a hiking spot. The mountain gets its name due to its close resemblance to “arungal” or earrings. Arangala consists of three peaks of which the highest is about 750 meters high. The hike takes up to about 3 hours in total.

Getting to Arangala

From Matale take the Kandy – Jaffna Highway and go past Thotagamuwa until Naula to reach the Arangala Mountain.
