Victoria Park is a beautiful nature park situated in Nuwara Eliya. It was originally the research field of the Hakgala Botanical Gardens. The park was opened with the planting of an oak tree by a German Princess who was visiting the country at the time. The park consists of a variety of flora, fauna and a number of rare species of birds. The Nanu Oya River flows through the park creating a number of small lakes. There is also a children’s play area at the far end of the park.
Getting to Victoria Park
From Nuwara Eliya travel approximately 4 km along the Peradeniya-Badulla-Chenkaladi Highway to reach the Victoria Park in Nuwara Eliya.
