Distance from Colombo – 4.4 km (12 minutes)

The Sri Lanka Planetarium is the first and only planetarium in Sri Lanka and is situated in Colombo 7. It is a public planetarium which is maintained as an institute under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research. It was constructed by the State Engineering Corporation back in 1965. It includes a universal projector at the center which is directed towards the artificial sky created on the dome screen above a 570-seat auditorium.
