The Koggala Beach is situated in Koggala town of Galle district in the Southern coast of Sri Lanka. Koggala has one of the longest beaches of Sri Lanka and is located very close to Unawatuna, another popular coastal town in the Galle district. Koggala is the hometown of popular Sri Lankan Writer and Poet, Martin Wickramasinghe and hence the place attracts a considerable crowd due to his ancestral home being converted in to a museum. Koggala beach is less crowded than the beaches at Unawatuna and is relatively uncluttered and unexplored.
